Christian Missionary Fellowship International Indianapolis, Indiana
Following World War II, young people and churches began to imagine how they might win the world for Christ – how the body of Christ could truly be global. Bible college students, together with leaders rooted in the Christian churches/churches of Christ, shared their ideas for a cooperative effort of churches and individuals to accomplish the task of world evangelization. And out of that vision, in 1949, Christian Missionary Fellowship (CMF) was born.
Since the beginning 53 years ago, CMF’s missionaries, leadership team, board of directors, and supporting churches have worked together in the task of world evangelization, believing that a team approach is the most effective way to do missions. And, our ministry remains true to our chartered purpose: “to evangelize the non-Christian people of the world.”
Missions is not what the church does, but rather who the church is. By its very nature the church is missionary, but at times a local congregation loses its sense of purpose and thus its zeal in its continuing obedience to the Great Commission. CMF has developed the Church Mobilization Division to address this need. CMF partners with churches like Mountain to carry out its mission to draw people from all nations into a relationship with Christ and His Church in 16 countries.
